Music Camp 2020

Posted on April 2, 2020

A few weeks ago our four premier ensembles headed off to our annual music camp at Brookfield! The camp is always a hard three days that is a test of our musicians’ endurance, but it is one of the most fulfilling events on our SPS Music calendar. On the Saturday the four groups – Big Band, Wind Ensemble, Vivo Strings and St Pauls Singers – along with our amazing Music Captains, set off from St Pauls. On Sunday morning the St Pauls singers did their annual singing yoga and the instrumental kids were very jealous of their relaxation, while they were in their sectionals! On Sunday afternoon there was some down time for volleyball, swimming, or homework for the poor seniors, but afterwards it was right back to rehearsals.

The Music Captains held a games night on Sunday night, and it gave Mrs Green some great and embarrassing material for all of our senior videos. Lots of chocolate was eaten and some incredibly fashionable kids did their first catwalks.

After a great concert where all the ensembles showed off what they’d been doing over the three days, we all headed back home, where I’m sure most of us were out cold by 8:00pm.
